Carry-On Baggage

The maximum dimensions of the carry-on baggage is 55cm x 23cm x 40cm (21.5" x 9" x 15.5") for every passengers. All passengers are entitled to one carry-on baggage and a personal item. Personal items have to fit under the seat in front of you on the aircraft, this could be shopping bags, garment bags, camera bags, and a cat/dog in its own carrier bag. There is no weight limit to your carry-on bag.

Passengers traveling with an infant will have an additional carry-on suitcase allowed.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage varies between routes and cabin classes, please check your baggage allowance when booking your flight. If you have any questions regarding your baggage allowance or if you wish to purchase excess baggage, please contact our customer service team.

Fare Classes

It offers two classes of service, Business and Economy on most of its aircraft. On their long-haul international routes, Business class and Economy class is offered, with certain flights additionally offering a Premium Economy class. All mainline seats feature audio-video on-demand and mood lighting.


Economy Class

Economy Class is separated into two classes depending on your flight routes: International Economy Class and North America and Caribbean Economy Class.

Economy Class Facilities

International Economy Class:

Enjoy a range of complimentary spirits, wines, and soft drinks. Hot meals are also included and in-flight entertainment. Duty-free shopping, USB port for charging devices, and power supply is available as well as Air Canada’s own enRoute magazine.

North America and Caribbean Economy Class:

This class presents a variety of amenities: reading light per seat, blanket and pillow, enRoute magazine and in-flight entertainment with a touch-screen tv.

Air Canada Bistro meal and beverages are available for flights of 90 minutes and more.

What is Economy Class Seats Like?

Preferred seat option is available to purchase. These are available in exit rows, first few rows and bulkhead rows. Please note not everyone can sit in an exit row.


Business Class
Business Class Facilities

When you travel in Business Class from Toronto Pearson International Airport, you’ll enjoy an exclusive full-service check-in space featuring comfortable seating and dedicated self-service check-in kiosks.

Dedicated Priority Check-In counters for accelerated services are available at all airports. Speed through security via exclusive access lanes at security screening points. Your bags will be marked with priority tags so they’re first on the carousel when you arrive at your destination

Before your flight, relax in one of our Maple Leaf Lounges, Star Alliance or contract partner lounges across North America.

What are Business Class

The exclusive cabin where each seat is guaranteed to provide access to a window or aisle. Larger seats with more recline, extra legroom, and adjustable head and footrests. Complimentary pillow and blanket, hot towel service and premium earbuds. Onboard, Business Class service features a delectable menu with a flair for international cuisine, a full-service bar including fine wines, and unequalled service.


Food
Meal Options

Signature Class - passengers flying in the Signature Class are offered meals inspired by the destinations travelling to, such as chicken biryani, Moroccan tagine and dim sum for flights to Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Passengers can be flexible with the time they wish to eat, meaning they are not fixed to eat at the time of the eating schedule. In addition, there is the option to choose an express light meal for a lighter option.

North America & Caribbean Business Class, Premium Economy (International and select North American routes) and International Economy Class - Passengers are given a complimentary hot meal with salad, bread and dessert.

Premium Economy (Shorter flights within North America) - passengers are given a light breakfast or snacks.

North America & Caribbean Economy Class and North America & Caribbean Rouge Class - On these classes, passengers are offered Air Canada Bistro meals for purchase which includes breakfasts, snacks, meals for lunches and dinners. The Bistro menu is available for most flights which are longer than 90 minutes, with fresh meals being available on flights of 2 or more hours and those departing before 10 pm.

International Premium Rouge and North America and Caribbean Premium Rouge - Passengers are offered complimentary premium hot meals and snacks.

International Rouge - Passengers are offered complimentary meals, which vary depending on the flight times and routes.

Special Dietary Requirements

Special meals (within North America) are available in Premium Economy within North America and in Business class within North America. For International Flights, special meals will be available on all classes where meal service is provided. Any flights which offer Air Canada Bistro service, special meals will not be available, as the menu already caters to many different tastes and requirements, including Kosher-certified products.

For passengers who require a Kosher special meal, or for any special meals on flights departing Germany or Switzerland, they must be ordered at least 24 hours prior to flight departure time. For all other requests for special meals, these must be requested 18 hours before flying. This can be done online by contacting Air Canada Reservations. The selection of special meals are as follows:

Drinks & Alcohol

On most flights, there will be a full drinks service on board, including alcoholic, soft and hot beverages.

For Air Canada Signature Class, North America & Caribbean Business Class, Premium Economy, International Economy Class, International Premium Rouge and North America and Caribbean Premium Rouge, there will be complimentary drinks available as part of the meal service, including a selection of wines, beers, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages.

For North America & Caribbean Economy Class and North America and Caribbean Rouge classes, there will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to purchase.


WIFI

You can pre-purchase Air Canada WIFI at a discounted price online. Air Canada offers a '1-hour pass' at $6.50 CAD, a '1-way pass' at $21.00 CAD and a monthly pass 'Air Canada Plan' at $69.95 CAD.

You can also buy WIFI on board at an hourly rate.


Check-In Information
Online Check-In

Online check-in opens 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. Passengers can check-in via the Air Canada mobile app or the airline website. Online check-in closes 45 minutes before for domestic flights and 60 minutes before departure time for international flights.

Airport Check-In

Passengers can check-in 12 hours prior to departure time using the self-service check-in kiosks at the airport. Check-in closes 45 minutes before for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights.

We recommend passengers to arrive at the airport early to avoid any unexpected delays. Please note that the airline reserves the right to deny boarding if passengers check-in or arrive at the boarding gate late.
