Aeromexico was established in the year 1934 and it currently has more than 35 % of the domestic market share of Mexico (largest) and more than 15% (2nd largest) on international routes from Mexican cities. The airline has a single hub at Mexico City International Airport and has secondary hubs at Guadalajara and Monterrey. Besides these primary and secondary hubs, the airline has two focus cities at Cancun and Tijuana.
Taking cabin and check-in baggage on Aeromexico depends on the route of travel and the cabin class or fare type booked.
Generally, the Basic Fare passengers are allowed to take only cabin/personal items as baggage (max 2 bags of total 22lbs weight, and 21.5 x 15.7 x 10 inches size) and not the check-in bag.
Passengers who have booked the Main Cabin are allowed 1 check-in bag in addition to the max 2 cabin bags. The weight of a check-in bag shall not be more than 55lbs and linear dimensions of 62 inches.
Clase Premier Passengers are allowed to bring in 1 cabin bag and 1 personal item of max weight 18 kg and 3 kg respectively. Check-in baggage allowance for them is maxed 66lbs for 2 check-in bags of linear dimensions 62 inches each.
There are excess baggage charges in case you have to carry more in the check-in baggage.
Check-in into the Aeromexico flights can be done in the following ways:
: A) Web check-in- For domestic flights within Mexico, web check-in remains open till 48 hours before the scheduled flight departure time of the flight. For international flights from Mexico, web check-in remains opens till 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of flights.
: B) Mobile check-in- Aeromexico mobile check-in can be done only when departing from some select airports in Mexico and other countries, including the USA. : C) Kiosk checks in- The kiosk checks in can be done at a select location in Mexico, Japan, Chile, and the USA. This method of check-in can be used from 24-48 hours before the flight departure time.
Club Premier is the frequent flyer program of the airline for individuals. It also has a corporate loyalty rewards program called the Club Premier Corporate. It allows passengers to earn and redeem the Premier Points with ease.
Club Premier can be joined by simply filling a form online and is free to join.
Points can be earn while flying with Aeromexico or any of its airline partners in this program. It can also be earned by buying goods or services from some other non-airline partners of Aeromexico Reservations.
Redemption of the points earned can be done by booking award flights with Aeromexico and also by upgrading the cabin class of service. It can also be used for hotel stays and using the products and services of other participating partners.
Membership Levels
There are three tiers of membership for this program:
a) Gold- this level is attained by earning 50000 qualifying Premier Points on Aeromexico or SkyTeam Alliance members.
b) Platinum- this level is attained by earning 80000 qualifying Premier Points.
c) Titanium- this level is attained by earning 100000 qualifying Premier Points.
Aeromexico connects 100 destinations in the Americas and other countries of the world in other regions. These connections are provided either by the airline on its own or by its codeshare partners. Aeromexico codeshares with a total of 17 airlines, including those of Mexico and other foreign countries.
